About
sysnotes is a small collection of working notes.
I keep these pages as a personal reference: things I had to look up more than once, mostly around Linux internals, TCP/IP behaviour, and the operational side of running a handful of servers.
Everything here comes from practice rather than theory, so expect rough edges and the occasional opinion. If something is out of date, that is usually because the workaround stopped being necessary.
What you will find
- Short posts on networking and kernel tuning
- Checklists I keep coming back to
- Post-mortems of things that broke, and why
